Starting school in Sweden comes with its own charm and structure! Here, kids begin with Förskoleklass (F-class) at age 6-kind of a bridge between preschool and primary school. Anandini just started her F-class journey, diving into play-based learning, social skills, and lots of outdoor fun (yes, rain or shine-Swedes love their fresh air!). It's all about easing into academics while nurturing creativity and independence.

Stockholm winter feels endless, so I did what any sun-deprived soul would do—packed my bags and fled to warmer days!

When people looked forward to reading words that wrapped around photos like warm hugs, this is one of those captions. One from the heart. One about a lake that means more to me than just still water and seasonal reflections.

When I first moved to Stockholm, I never imagined my life would settle by a lake. A lake I didn’t even know existed until it quietly became the center of my days. I remember shortlisting this house and obsessively zooming in and out on Google Maps, thinking wait, really? Is the lake that close? Are we actually living? What 100 meters away? Maybe even 50?

It felt unreal. And yet, here I am. From the window of my bedroom, it's the first thing I see each morning. Sometimes glowing golden in the sunrise, sometimes frozen still like glass in winter, and sometimes wild and moody like my own thoughts ,
sometimes mirroring the sky so perfectly it's hard to tell where the earth ends and the heavens begin and sometimes shrouded in fog .But no matter what, it's always there. Always present.

This lake... it's held space for me in ways no place ever has. It has seen me teary-eyed on hard days, smiling for no reason on good ones, laughing with my daughter as she runs ahead, and walking silently alone, just breathing. I come here to pause. I come here to watch my thoughts settle, to listen to birds that somehow sound wiser than people, to let the rhythm of the waves remind me that things will always move, shift, and eventually calm.

To live this close to something so alive and grounding still feels like magic. It's like a secret gift I never asked for but was quietly granted.

If you're still reading, thank you for holding space for words, for still believing in slow moments and quiet magic.

The lake knows what i don't always say
