✨ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘃𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲 | 𝚃𝚑𝚘𝚞 𝚂𝚑𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝙽𝚘𝚝 𝙶𝚕𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚏𝚢 𝙴𝚡𝚑𝚊𝚞𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗

For most of my life, I lived by the “extra mile” rule.
Do more. Be better. Impress. Perform.

It’s what got me into the French corporate world — and I hated every single second of it.
It’s how I aced junior high, wrote a novel, planned seamless trips like a one-woman logistics agency, did everything that was asked of me by French society, and secured a Master’s degree.

The extra mile made me look accomplished.
But inside, I was unraveling.
People praised the polished surface — no one noticed the cost beneath it.
And slowly, I stopped clapping too. The truth is I had always despised the fake acclamations that came with it.

And that’s when I discovered something else:
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐞.

The hidden mile is quieter.
It’s not performance — it’s presence.

This mile isn’t about effort.
It’s about 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴.

It’s the quiet pause before you say yes out of guilt.
The moment of stillness when you 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬.
It’s where the discomfort lives — and where truth begins.

This week, I invite you into that space.
Not to fix it.
Not to perform through it.
But to sit with it.

Because the hidden mile isn’t loud.
It doesn’t earn you applause.
It earns you 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟.

When I first chose stillness, I met my shadow — the part of me that was always exhausted, always proving, always trying to earn rest.
And instead of pushing her away, I stayed.
I witnessed.
I listened.
That’s where healing started.

That’s why the Slow Beauty Academy Community™ isn’t just about beauty routines — it’s about 𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧.
Coming back to the woman beneath the roles. The one who doesn’t need to be fixed — just finally seen.

This week, we soften our grip on fixing.
We stop sprinting.
We begin sitting.
We walk the hidden mile.
Not to move forward.
But to come back home.

With Love,
Livie 💛✨ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘃𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲 | 𝚃𝚑𝚘𝚞 𝚂𝚑𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝙽𝚘𝚝 𝙶𝚕𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚏𝚢 𝙴𝚡𝚑𝚊𝚞𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 For most of my life, I lived by the “extra mile” rule.

But to come back home. With Love, Livie 💛This week 6 of the 𝐒𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞, 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚠𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐’𝚜 𝚗𝚘𝚝 𝚘𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚠𝚊𝚕𝚕… but in the flicker of a candle and the stillness we choose.

We embrace 𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓢𝓪𝓬𝓻𝓮𝓭 𝓟𝓪𝓾𝓼𝓮—not rushing past discomfort, but sitting with it and breathing into the shadows.

✨ When have you chosen stillness over escape? Or embraced stillness instead of running, lately? I pray we can do this together this week; I’m holding space for you.

Some healing happens not in action, but in allowing.
This sleeping mask reminds me to trust the quiet work of rest.

Lightweight yet deeply replenishing, it sinks into the skin like a whispered reassurance: ‘You don’t have to do anything more tonight. Just be.’ It’s the skincare equivalent of being wrapped in a warm blanket after a long day.

At its heart, it’s powered by 𝐀𝗌𝖼ⱺ𝗋ᑲ𝗒ᥣ 𝐆ᥣυ𝖼ⱺ𝗌𝗂ᑯ𝖾, a gentle but effective form of Vitamin C. This antioxidant shields the skin from daily stress and free radical damage while brightening a dulled, fatigued complexion—giving you back some of the natural glow that stress and burnout can steal.

𝐆ᥣ𝗒𝖼𝖾𝗋𝗂𐓣 and 𝐒ⱺᑯ𝗂υ𝐌 𝐇𝗒αᥣυ𝗋ⱺ𐓣α𝗍𝖾 — both skin-identical ingredients—work like magnets for moisture, drawing hydration deep into the layers of your skin where it’s needed most. They help to restore that feeling of skin that’s resilient, plump, and quietly strong, even when you might not feel that way inside.
The formula also includes 𝐁𝖾𝗍α-𝐆ᥣυ𝖼α𐓣, a powerhouse soothing agent that helps calm redness, strengthen the skin’s barrier, and ease the subtle inflammation that often accompanies stress and exhaustion. It’s like a balm not just for your skin, but for the nervous system underneath.

And 𝐇𝗒ᑯ𝗋ⱺ𝗑𝗒ρ𝗋ⱺρ𝗒ᥣ 𝐁𝗂𝗌ραᥣ𝐌𝗂𝗍α𝐌𝗂ᑯ𝖾 𝐌𝐄𝐀, a ceramide-like ingredient, mimics your skin’s own natural barrier defenses, helping to repair and protect—gently encouraging your skin to hold onto its own strength.

As you drift to sleep, this mask quietly works beneath the surface—reviving dullness, replenishing hydration, and creating a morning glow that feels earned through surrender, not struggle.

It’s a gentle reminder that not all healing is loud or immediate. Sometimes, the deepest restoration comes from trusting your body’s quiet wisdom—and letting your skin (and spirit) repair in peace. 🌙

Perfect as part of your slow beauty ritual, where you don’t want a 12-step skincare routine—you just want to be held, hydrated, and seen.

With Love,
Livie 💛

Rap’s relentless energy-especially in Eminem’s ‘Till I Collapse’— reminds me of the mental toughness mothers need to face life’s storms and burnout. This song is an anthem for rebirth and resilience: Eminem’s lyrical genius lies in his raw honesty and discipline, echoing the balance we seek: gentle on the outside, unbreakable within.

I admire his craft, even as I set boundaries with the hype and controversy. ‘Till I Collapse’ isn’t about aggression, but about the discipline to keep going when you want to give up. The lyric ‘You gotta search within you, try to find that inner strength’ is a call to strategic resilience: true softness means boundaried compassion, not self-abandonment.

So mental iron doesn’t mean being rigid-it’s about having the flexibility to bend without breaking.

True softness isn’t self-abandonment, nor is it passivity; it’s boundaried compassion for yourself first and strategic resilience.
Real resilience is standing firm with kindness, using softness as your strength and shield.

𝐄𝗑𝖾𝗋𝖼𝗂𝖼𝖾:
* Listen to the first verse.
* Write down one expectation that feels like ‘collapsing.’
* Ask: How would my ‘Terminator’ self handle this? What would relentless softness look like?

𝐏𝗋α𝖼𝗍𝗂𝖼𝖾:
* Set a non-negotiable boundary-your ‘roof.’
* When overwhelmed, reset physically and whisper: ‘I collapse to rise.’
* Replace ‘pushing through’ with micro-pauses; ask, ‘Is this serving my rebirth?’

𝐃α𝗂ᥣ𝗒 𝐌α𐓣𝗍𝗋α:
‘I hold my ground like iron; I respond with softness.’

Rebirth isn’t about becoming someone new-it’s letting your inner Terminator guard your softness, so you can finally hear your own voice again.
